Who Is Jesus?

What a profound question!  For nearly two thousand years, everyone from scholars to skeptics has given their opinion concerning Christ.  At Blessed Hope, rather than trust opinions, we turn to the one source that gives an accurate and consistent answer to this questionThe Bible.   There are seven truths the Bible gives us concerning Christ:

He is the Son of God: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:17b (KJV).

He is God and Man: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:1-4, 14 (KJV)

He was conceived of the Holy Ghost:And Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God. Luke 1:34-35 (NASB)

He was without sin: Although Christ was made in the likeness of sinful man, He was Himself sinless. He made Him who knew no sin [to be] sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:21 (NASB)

He died for the sins of the world: [Christ] is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.  I John 2:1 (KJV)

God raised Him from the dead: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know-- this [Man], delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put [Him] to death. And God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.  Acts 2:22-24 (NASB)

He is the Head of the Church: And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; so that He Himself might come to have first place in everything. For it was the [Father's] good pleasure for all the fulness to dwell in Him, Colossians 1:17-19 (NASB)

He is the only way to God: Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.  John 14:6 (NASB)

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 (NASB)
